The more true-to-reality answer though is by taking a talented chef on the road with her and eating fabulous meals every day. Duncan Pickford works wonders whether he…

23 years so I had these in France and then days la 23 years so I had these in France and then days later in Germany having never seen them before. I fell in love with them and I was told they were called Snow cherries.
They're not. Not by anyone else at least. Except @toriamos who wrote a song called Snow Cherries from France which is crazy.

Many years later I found them at a farmers market and they were called Cape gooseberries. That's what everyone calls them here so I tried planting some. The plant was tiny and sad.. So tiny and sad that our house painters didn't notice them and piled crap on them and they died.

This year I got 2 new plants. I put them in full sun in my raised bed and they grew like crazy!! I have SNOW CHERRIES!

They're yummy 🥰
It's been a long time since I had a dish that trul It's been a long time since I had a dish that truly blew me away with its originality. Of all things that did it this time? Cucumber salad??

The first photo is that salad. Ever gotten brain freeze from a salad? Now I have. The cucumbers were cut like linguine, the herbs were plentiful and the dressing (or extra flavor bomb) was a spicy cucumber granita. It was beautiful, flavorful, unique and amazing.

Every dish was perfect, from the toro on shokupan, to the halibut with pluots, to the HUGE panko breaded pork chop. Every bite sublime....🥰🥰

I'll be back next month!!
