Manresa 320 Village Lane Los Gatos, CA 95030 I have been wanting to go to Manresa for ages. It seems like it’s harder to plan to go to a place just 20 minutes away over our lovely mountain highway than all the way up to San Francisco. I finally realized, Hey! there are hotels near…

Snapper with rutabaga puree and chard

More experimenting with the CSA box contents! The one thing in the box that was a mystery to me, preparation-wise, was the 1/2 dozen rutabagas. I sent out a plea on twitter. I got a lot of good recipes. I decided though, being that I’d never made them before, I wanted to do something simple…

Beet and Citrus Salad

Truth be told, “again” and “recipe” don’t really go together in my house. The title quote is actually paraphrased from Neil Gaiman‘s Coraline—I’ve always liked that line. But this week I got my first CSA box and, since the point of signing up for the CSA was to force some variety in to my kitchen,…

Cod with Prosciutto and Asparagus

I had some cod I picked up from the Farmer’s Market. It’s not rock cod, it’s a local Monterey Bay cod that is small and thin. The name has escaped me. But it’s a light, white fillet. This recipe serves 2. 3/4 lb white fish fillet 2T butter 2 garlic cloves, finely minced, mushed with…

Because of my severe hatred of cheese, olives and peppers,I can't usually do that but the menu accommodated me last night! So much fun.
